The first Goyescan Bullfight was held in 1954 in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of birth of Pedro Romero, a Rondenean bullfighter.
Since then this bullfight has been celebrated, it is held in the first week of September.
This particular bullfight evokes the time period in which Francisco de Goya lived, who lived in the same time period of Pedro Romero who is believed to be the inventor of modern bullfighting.
